Portiolo – San Benedetto Po
Po-op art residency on the Po river during the drought
The Poop art residency, which took place along the Mantuan banks of the Po River in the first weeks of August, aimed to reflect on the relationship between humans, the cause (and possible solution) of climate change, and the river, a natural force in the broadest sense, a source of life and nourishment on the one hand, death and destruction on the other.
My work focused on photographing the most obvious signs of change taking place along the riverbanks, from the most obvious to those buried in the grass or under the sand. I deliberately made the human presence rarefied, though perceptible in the works and objects that litter and shape the landscape with.
